Tom Dixon Designs for Jamie Oliver | Restaurant Design

What happens when design icon Tom Dixon designs for world famous chef Jamie Oliver(in partnership with New York chef Adam Perry Lang) a restaurant located in a landmark designed by legend architect Jean Nouvel? The result: ” Barbecoa” , one of London’s most desirable and hard to get into restaurants.

Barbecoa’s concept is based on wood-fired ovens, Robata grills, Argentine grills, tandoors and a smoker, Barbecoa has a selection of cooking methods unrivaled in the UK – and with an in-house butchers, the restaurant can order whole animals, using practically every part.

The rich, earthy tones of smoke, herbs and raw meat are considered in both the design and the materials used within the interior and Tom Dixon’s team have excelled themselves in delivering a luxuriously opulent space that certainly challenges the design of any of the top restaurants

The space includes a 200 seater restaurant, 40 seater bar, a take-away venue and onsite butcher shop. The scheme maximizes views of neighboring St Paul’s cathedral with a furniture layout that allows every customer to see the London landmark.

Barbecoa is located directly opposite St Paul’s Cathedral at the newly built One New Change
